Through a combination of precision wavelength control, ultra-steep edges, deep blocking, and the industry’s highest transmission levels, Alluxa’s ULTRA Series of hard-coated, thin-film optical bandpass filters will optimize the performance of a variety of instruments.

Each ULTRA Series bandpass filter is designed to surpass the requirements of the most advanced instruments. All are rigorously tested to guarantee that filter performance meets or exceeds even the most challenging specifications.

ULTRA Series bandpass filters are ideal for use in applications such as fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, Raman spectroscopy, LIDAR, and spectral imaging. Single-band, multiband, wideband, ultra-narrow, and narrowband filters are available.

Depending on the wavelength ranges and requirements of your system, ULTRA Series bandpass filters can be custom designed to meet one or more of the following challenging specifications:

  • Up to 99% transmission for passbands in the visible range
  • Up to OD10 wide range out of band blocking by design
  • Edge transitions as steep as 0.5% of CWL from 50% T to OD6
  • CWL at any wavelength from the UV to the mid IR (~250 nm to 13 µm)
  • Tolerances as tight as ± 0.25% of CWL
  • TWE as low as 0.01 wave RMS / inch measured at 632.8 nm

Multiband filters for fluorescence applications

ULTRA Series multiband filter with steep edges, high transmission, and OD6 out-of-band blocking.

ULTRA Series multiband filters can be designed with over 10 transmission bands, greater than OD8 blocking between bands, steep edges, and up to 98% transmission. They are perfect for use as excitation or emission filters in fluorescence techniques that require the simultaneous detection of multiple fluorophores in a single sample.

Quality and consistency from an innovative thin-film coating process

The wavelength control, transmission, and blocking of ULTRA Series filters are highly repeatable over several different coating runs.

Alluxa thin-film optical interference filters and dielectric mirrors are all hard-coated using our SIRRUS™ plasma deposition process on equipment that was designed and built by our team. This allows us to reliably and repeatedly produce the same high-performance thin-film bandpass filters over several different coating runs, which translates to consistent performance across all of your systems.
