Optical Fabrication Specialist (Optician)
This position oversees the entire optical shop operation from the technical aspects of the optical grinding and polishing operation to identifying, planning, and implementing process improvements using statistical controls. Standardizing documents and correcting problems as they arise and will develop and implement grinding and polishing procedures, testing, and analysis as required. The ability to troubleshoot processes is an essential requirement for the position. Will repair and maintain equipment, objects, and parts as well as work with various manufacturing personnel in the company to achieve intended results.
Has worked in a precision optical manufacturing environment. Has extensive knowledge in optical fabrication and glass manufacturing, machining, and polishing processes. B.S. Degree in optical/mechanical engineering, physics, or science/mathematics field preferred, or a minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience in a senior optical fabrication role. Supervisory experience will be helpful.
