Alluxa and COVID – 19
March 18, 2020
Greetings Friends, Colleagues and Customers of Alluxa,
As of March 18, 2020 Sonoma County has issued a Shelter in Place order to help combat the spread of the pandemic gripping the state of California as well as the country. http://sonomacounty.ca.gov/CAO/Press-Releases/Health-Officer-Orders-County-Residents-Shelter-in-Place/
Alluxa is considered an essential business as a bio technology company manufacturing high performance thin film interference filters for PCR equipment used specifically for the detection of the COVID – 19 virus, as well as the manufacture of filters for DNA sequencing, which are used to study the virus, its mutations and possibilities for a vaccine. As such we will remain open with limited on-site staff with new social distancing requirements on the factory floor. Our administrative and engineering staff will be working from home. I’m personally very proud that we can contribute in our small way towards helping in the fight.

New Record Quarter and Continued Expansion
November 2, 2018
Greetings Friends, Colleagues and Customers of Alluxa,
I’m pleased to announce another record quarter in Q3 of 2018, which is our 22nd record of the last 23 quarters and 11th in a row. To support our expected future growth and continue to enable R&D and surge capacity, we are continuing the previously announced expansion, and began construction on our 15th and 16th SIRRUS™ plasma deposition chambers. Our 40,000 square foot factory has room for up to 28 chambers, which will allow us to keep pace with the increasing demand for our optical coatings and filters. The factory expansion will also allow us to continue to enable an aggressive new product development and R&D schedule.

Alluxa update regarding the wildfire disaster ongoing in Northern California
October 11, 2017
Our thoughts go out to our friends, family and colleagues who were personally impacted by the devastating fires attacking our community. The factory has suffered no damage and was under no real threat, although it has been down for two full days without power. We are back online, though still expecting periodic power outages and staffing shortages over the next few weeks, and we will schedule accordingly.
Thanks again to all those who have contacted us with notes of support. Tough times like these always bring out the best in people.
