New volume coating capability added to the SIRRUS™ plasma deposition platform, and new paper on filters for non-linear optical systems.

Dear Friends, Colleagues and Customers of Alluxa,

I’m pleased to announce our latest addition to the SIRRUS™ Plasma Deposition family, affectionately called the “Warthog” by our team.

The Warthog is essentially a scaled up version of our precision SIRRUS – Ultra platform, but now capable of running up to twenty five 250mm substrates at a time, which makes it the highest volume coating platform in the industry. Although it won’t possess the industry leading sub-nm precision of the SIRRUS – Ultra process, it will still be capable of many of the mid-market filter requirements, such as environmentally stable dielectric mirrors, simple dichroics, IR-cut, and bandpass. Coatings incorporating transparent conductive oxides (TCO) are also planned. The Warthog will move to production status in Q3 of this year.
